Katy McNiff is thrilled to be joining St Mark’s as Interim Music Director. She is a former Music Teacher in Arizona public and charter schools. A dedicated Church Musician, she has directed music at churches in Michigan and Arizona since 2008. Most recently, she directed music serving the Catholic Community of the Davis Monthan Air Force Base.
Mrs. McNiff was a Faculty Associate in Music Education at Arizona State University, where she received the Professor of Impact Award. She was a Course Instructor and Ensemble Co-Director at the University of Arizona. She led choral ensembles and lecture series in Arizona, Michigan, Oklahoma and California. In addition, she was the Founder of the Audivi Vocem Choral Festival with ensembles in Tucson and Tempe.
Mrs. McNiff completed her Doctoral Residency in Music Education at Arizona State University. She holds a Masters Degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Arizona, a Masters Degree in Music Education from Arizona State University and Bachelors Degrees in Musicology and Voice from the University of Michigan. She has also studied Medieval Musicology at St Peters College, Oxford University. In addition to Music, Mrs. McNiff is a remote Academic Advisor at Southern New Hampshire University, where she works with her husband. Her son William is excited to be starting 2nd grade.
