Leyla U. Lara

Leyla comes to St. Mark after being a stay-at-home mom for 15 years. She and her husband moved from Michigan 16 years ago and have raised their three awesome children (17 yr old twin daughters and 13 yr old son) as if they were native, desert creatures.  

As the media/communications person, her main job is to keep parishioners informed, informed, informed! She designs and edits the weekly bulletin and weekly online newsletter.  She also runs the parish's social media accounts as well as scheduling room arrangements for all events. 

Leyla received dual degrees in Marketing & Advertising from Michigan State University, making her a true, die-hard, Spartan fan. She also earned an Associate's Degree in Graphic Design. She was born and raised in Honduras and also lived in Nicaragua, where most of her family currently resides. 

In her spare time, she loves journaling, coloring, and calligraphy and has a collection of pens/markers and everything stationery. She also enjoys travelling worldwide with the family and experiencing all kinds of cultures and traditions together.
